Abstract

Cardiac neoplasms can be classified according to whether they are primary or secondary, whether they are malignant or benign, or even by their size, shape or dimension. Hemangiosarcoma is characterized as a highly invasive neoplasm with high metastatic power, which can start in any vascularized tissue such as the spleen, liver, and heart. Chemodectomas are characterized as a neoplasm originating from chemoreceptor cells and are seen mainly in the heart base and structures that make up the heart. A 10-year-old female canine was seen at the Roque Quagliato Veterinary Medical Center with clinical signs of easy tiredness and a bulging abdomen for six months. Complementary tests were carried out and a tumor mass was seen in the right atrium and ventricle. The aim of this study was to report the clinical and diagnostic aspects of a dog with hemangiosarcoma and chemodectoma. In the case reported, the sum of all the clinical and diagnostic findings was paramount to the diagnosis of two cardiac neoplasms.
